No Fear. Powered by Theora.

Getting older has challenges but does not have to be a time when you abandon your passions or your purpose in life. You just need to use all your tools to ADAPT and keep living your best life.

Living independently, confidently and yes – boldly – whether at home or in a senior community does not mean acting your age.

In fact, as we grow older, we need to grow bolder.

The reality of aging is that our physical and cognitive strength may decrease. But planning for this phase of life puts you in the driver’s seat to navigate around the obstacles. And being prepared as a family caregiver, helps you and your loved one achieve the best quality of life (QoL).

Theora No Fear™

We designed the Theora No Fear Campaign to launch during Older Americans Month. This year’s #OAM25 theme is “flip the script.” That was precisely our intention when we conceived of the No Fear Campaign.

Society looks at older adults and aging as a time of decline, decay, disability, disease, and dementia.

But scientific studies show the majority of people over age 65 are happier in their lives with the peak of happiness happening in your late 70s and 80s. And, the secret to living longer, healthier and happier is to have quality relationships and social connections and to pursue your passion and purpose.

That is what the No Fear Campaign is all about.  John Glenn said it best when he went back in space at age 77, “Old people still have dreams.”

At Theora, we are here to help you pursue your dreams and live boldly using the tool of technology.

Fear of falling. Fear of wandering.

Fear of Falling

  • According to the Centers for Disease Control & Prevention (CDC), more than one in four adults over age 65 will experience a fall
  • More than 3 million older adults fall at home resulting in ER visits
  • After an initial fall, older adults risk falling again within 3 years
  • 72% of falls are not reported by the older adult to a family caregiver or physician
  • Many older adults reduce their active lifestyles and may self-isolate from social activities that can negatively impact their physical and mental health

Fear of Wandering

  • Currently 7.2 million adults live with Alzheimer’s – by 2050 it will be 13 million. 1 in 3 adults over age 85 will develop dementia
  • 60% of Alzheimer’s adults wander and become lost, jeopardizing their safety, health and ability to live independently
  • Dementia can affect balance issues with more dementia adults experiencing falls

No Fear means Live Boldly.

Learn how Theora Creates No Fear of Falls

Fear is something that triggers our survival response – fight or flight. It can create anxiety – also known as anticipatory fear or stress. As we age, fear of falling, fear of dementia and wandering, fear of not having the strength – physically or emotionally – all can make us feel that we have to give up things we love.

However, as we age, we can conquer fear by taking back control over our limitations. We can adapt instead of abandon.

Part of this is mindset is having confidence and a positive outlook about life. It is an era where we can tap into the desire we have to live a life of passion and purpose.

The other part of having No Fear, is putting technology to work for you as a key element of living boldly.
