Caregiving Situational Awareness Solutions Designed by Caregivers
OUR VISION:
A world of health and wellness, longevity and independence and quality of life for all.
OUR MISSION:
Deliver a situational awareness platform and tools using advanced yet affordable technology that promotes healthy active aging, chronic disease management and support for caregivers to increase quality of life (QoL) for all. We do this by improving care and communication, lowering costs and risks, reducing caregiver burnout as well as lowering fears so independence, mobility and social interactions are accessible and achievable.
Who We Are
Theora Care™ is the leading provider of situational awareness services and products using advanced technology in artificial intelligence (AI), neural networking, GPS, Ultra Wideband (UWB) and more.
We work with senior living operators and home care agencies, aging and long-term care organizations, law enforcement, nonprofit organizations, individual families and others to deliver better quality of life (QoL) for adults needing care.
From Alzheimer’s to autism, from aging in place at home to active aging communities or assisted living, we use AI and other advanced technologies to reduce fears associated with growing older, such as falls risk, and to promote better quality of life (QoL).
Why We Do What We Do
While the technology is what fuels our solutions, our passion is driven by personal experiences we had as caregivers for loved ones. We know caregiving is not a one-size-fits-all situation. We also realize the more personalized the data, the better the care.
And while we are engineers, designers, marketing and service people we believe in collaboration to create the most impactful solutions. That is why we co-design our products (“design with” not “design for”) with our target audiences: older adults, those with Alzheimer’s and family caregivers.
Using advanced technology for situational awareness, we can enhance caregiving by providing sophisticated data and tools to family and professional caregivers giving them confidence in the care they deliver and better quality of life for the older adult – whether inside or outside, in the home or in the community.
What Does Theora® Mean?
The Story of Theora
Theora is a popular Greek name for a female but it is also a Greek word meaning “watcher, thinker.”
We think of Theora as our watcher and thinker – she is the virtual “you” in terms of being part of your “caregiver brain” to deliver data and connectivity that helps you provide holistic care. She is always there and always on. She never sleeps so you can. She creates a sense of confidence, enhances instant communication and improves care security. She reduces fears and enhances the quality of life for both the loved one being cared for and for the caregiver. She is the heart and soul of our situational awareness system.
Fearless Leaders
Stephen Popovich - Founder/President at Theora Care
Steve brings a wealth of experience in data communications and has been involved in three successful high-tech startups that were later sold to publicly traded NASDAQ companies like Digi International in Minneapolis. Steve was an executive staff member for over 15 years with a publicly traded company, which is a global leader and pioneer in the Internet of Things (IoT) business segment.
When a family member of Steve’s was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s, Steve looked around for technology that could assist family caregivers in understanding the situational well-being of their loved ones. When he could not find products to answer that market need, he founded his fourth company, Clairvoyant Networks, and has developed and brought the Theora Care family of products to market under that umbrella.
Shelley Symonds - Chief Marketing Officer at Theora Care
Shelley is Chief Marketing Officer at Clairvoyant Networks and heads up marketing for Theora Care. A Silicon Valley veteran, Shel brings deep experience in developing, launching and creating revenue for technology products. A veteran of companies like Oracle and over 5 startups, Shel’s expertise is growth marketing for companies that are introducing game changing technologies – creating new categories and delighted, passionate customers.
Shel became interested in the elder care market when her mother was diagnosed with FTD (dementia) and a long caregiving journey began. When her husband was also diagnosed with ALS, she began to search for technology to help family caregivers like herself care for all family members with grace and dignity. Shel and Steve have worked together before, and she was delighted to see what Steve has built in Theora Care.
