Frequently Asked Questions
Does Theora Care offer discounts to nonprofit organizations?
We work with a variety of local, state and federal nonprofit agencies, each with specific and individual needs. Rather than offer a blanket discount to all nonprofits, we work closely with your organization to determine the scope of the project and partner with you on creative ways to fund the technology from Theora Care. You can read about some of our partnerships, such as L.A. Found, on our Case Studies page. Give us a call to discuss.Â
Is the smartwatch only designed for people with dementia and Alzheimer’s or would it work with other groups such as those with mental health issues?
Our Theora Connect smartwatch can be beneficial to any adult of any age with conditions like Parkinson’s, Alzheimer’s or Autism. We highlight dementia and older adults in general because two of the biggest issues they have that we help solve are wandering and falls. But any individual who needs to be connected to caregivers can benefit from the watch and our Theora Care technology for more independence, mobility and quality of life.
How is the Theora Connect different from other smart wearable options?
We co-designed our smartwatch with the input of older adults, people with dementia and their caregivers to ensure we addressed their specific needs. We also simplified the watch so that it allows for the crucial communication (hands-free two-way communication), news elements (weather) and health data (steps taken) but also offers industry-leading AI and neural networking technology to address falls and wandering. Other watches may have more bells and whistles but ours focuses on specific data regarding quality of life.
