Caregivers are using the Theora Link Pro Smartphone App with the Theora Connect wearable, to unobtrusively monitor loved ones and provide better care with more information about how, when, and where their loved one might need attention, and be able to communicate with them, or just to check in.
One of Theora Link Pro’s key features is called Safe Zones. On the caregiver’s smartphone app, you can create virtual safety nets to help monitor your care recipient’s location. Because Theora Connect is also a GPS tracking device, if a person should exit or enter a Safe Zone, caregivers are notified. Should a loved one wander, the GPS location is displayed similar to other Alzheimer’s tracking devices, but with Theora Connect you can also easily communicate with your loved one. Safe Zones enable caregivers to handle a wandering event before it escalates. Additionally, speaking directly with the loved one reassures them that help is on the way. Caregivers also have access to a 30-day record of their loved one’s location to review and get a holistic picture of their loved one’s well-being.
Quik Connect™ is the automatic-answering feature on the Theora Connect smartwatch. The primary caregiver simply pushes the Quik Connect button on the app, and the loved one’s wearable automatically answers, with your familiar voice coming through the Theora Connect speaker. Should a loved one become confused, or is unable to answer, caregivers can still reach them via the auto-answering audio. Quik Connect is also an important feature for diffusing social isolation during the COVID19 pandemic and after, when loved ones may live alone or find themselves in a lockdown situation – no additional assistance is needed to hear and speak with family members.
The Connected Family feature lets the primary caregiver add additional trusted contacts who can call, and be called by your loved one, using their Theora Connect. The primary caregiver can add family, friends, or professional caregiving contacts to the wearable just as you would add a contact to a smartphone. Theora Link is a free downloadable app, so if others in a loved one’s circle want to be connected to call or monitor a loved one’s activity, the primary caregiver can easily set this up. And only added contacts can call your loved one, annoying SPAM calls to the wearable are eliminated.
